The 5S Method for stress Management

 The 5S Method

Credits to Ben Meer, follow him for more insightful content. ------ Here's the original post: The Japanese secret to clutter-free living: "The first step in crafting the life you want is to get rid of everything you don't." — Joshua Becker Imagine stepping into your home, where every item has its place and your spaces spark joy. Your daily chores are no longer a dreaded task but a simple, swift act of maintaining your personal oasis. Sound far-fetched? It's entirely achievable with the 5S Method. Developed for Japanese factories (efficiency leaders), 5S is equally powerful for your home and workplace. Rebecca E., home system expert and writer of “Your House Machine” newsletter popularized it. Step 1: Sort (Seiri) Step 2: Set in Order (Seiton) Step 3: Shine (Seiso) Step 4: Standardize (Seiketsu) Step 5: Sustain (Shitsuke) Tidiness isn't just about cleaning up; it's about personal transformation and designing the life you want. As Marie Kondo said: "The space in which we live should be for the person we are becoming now, not for the person we were in the past."

How do you Help Your Team Feel More Comfortable with Conflict? How do you support constructive conflict and candour on your team?

How do you Help Your Team Feel More Comfortable with Conflict? How do you support constructive conflict and candour on your team? “Candor must be supported by two other attributes: a deep commitment to the well-being of the team and the individual, and an in depth appreciation of how to work with emotions. With these in the mix, and with a commitment to learning, candor becomes a vital force for growth.” - Marion Langford How do you practice Candour? Leaders and teams have found that seeing reality clearly is essential to being successful. ▶ In order to see reality clearly, leaders and organizations need everyone to be truthful and not lie about, or withhold, information. They need candor. ▶ Candor is the revealing of all thoughts, feelings, and sensations in an honest, open, and aware way. ▶ Speaking candidly increases the probability that leaders and teams can collectively see reality more clearly. The ability to get issues on the table and work through them constructively is critical to having a healthy culture. Exercise: Managers can normalize productive conflict on your team by using an exercise to map out the unique value of each role and the tensions that should exist among them. Draw a circle and divide that circle into enough wedges to represent each role on your team. For each role, ask: 1️⃣What is the unique value of this role on this team? 2️⃣On which stakeholders is this role focused? 3️⃣What is the most common tension this role puts on team discussions? Answer those questions for each member of the team, filling in the wedges with the answers. As you go, emphasize how the different roles are supposed to be in tension with one another. With heightened awareness and a shared language, your team will start to realize that much of what they have been interpreting as interpersonal friction has actually been perfectly healthy role-based tension. Multilingualism in schools is important

Multilingualism in schools is important because it offers numerous benefits:

1. Cognitive Development: Learning multiple languages enhances cognitive abilities, such as problem-solving skills, multitasking, and creativity.

2. Cultural Understanding: It fosters empathy and understanding of diverse cultures, promoting global citizenship and tolerance.

3. Improved Academic Performance: Research suggests that multilingual students often outperform monolingual peers in standardized tests, particularly in areas like math and vocabulary.

4. Enhanced Communication Skills: Multilingual students develop better communication skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, which are valuable in various personal and professional contexts.

5. Preservation of Heritage: Multilingual education helps preserve and promote heritage languages, contributing to the maintenance of cultural identities within communities.

6. Neurological Benefits: Learning multiple languages from a young age has been linked to improved brain function and a reduced risk of age-related cognitive decline later in life.

Overall, integrating multilingualism into school curricula not only enriches educational experiences but also equips students with valuable skills for success in a diverse and interconnected world.

Traveling is the best teacher

Traveling is the best teacher of the 21st century.

10 life lessons I’ve learned as a digital nomad: 1. Travel is the best mentor The: • Sites • Culture • Way of living Are a whole new world to me. It's difficult to step out of your comfort zone - but you learn to accept change as you travel. It's the secret path to mental resilience. 2. Appreciate different cultures All humans really just want: • Love • Family • Freedom • Friendship • Happiness Everything else is secondary. So embrace the sameness. It's the very fiber of people that transcends languages and borders. 3. Pack Light, Gain More I live out of 1 suitcase and 1 bag. The more things, the more baggage - literally and figuratively. But when you pack light, you realize how little you truly need to be happy. Don't let your possessions possess you. 4. Make friends with strangers One day, at a cafe, I met a woman who brightened up my day. I asked her out - now she's my girlfriend and we're traveling the world together. So treat every person you meet like they could be a lifelong friend. 5. Travel Will Frazzle For 2 days after I land somewhere new, I'm always anxious. But that's okay. I focus on: • Finding a gym • Getting out into nature And being patient with myself. After 48 hours, I know my feeling of anxiety will pass. 6. Learn to think outside of the box "It's easier for me to get ready for a game on the road because you're expected to lose. That's a challenge that perks my competitive juices." - Michael Jordan I play better away, too. I get constant creativity, inspiration, and focus from new places. 7. Maintain Balance Running successful businesses while traveling every 3 months is a juggling act. Make sure to balance: • Personal growth • Business growth • Relationships Sometimes one comes at the expense of another and that's okay. Balance wins in the long run. 8. Build Relationships Quality > Quantity I've met people who've changed my business - and life. The best bit? Widen your talent pool to the entire world. 9. The Kaleidoscope Effect When you travel, you'll see people living like you'd never have imagined. You realize the echo chamber you lived in - and take on wildly different perspectives. Now you'll see challenges from multiple angles, leading to unique, out-of-the-box solutions. 10. Be a Lifelong Learner The more you read, the more you realize how little you know. Travel is the same; The more you travel, the more you realize how little you've experienced. So be open-minded. Be a student for the world's education.

12 easy time management strategies to reclaim 10 hours weekly.

12 easy time management strategies to reclaim 10 hours weekly.

Extra tip if you find it challenging to incorporate them:

1. Don't rush to be the most productive.

Choose 1 that seems most interesting to you.

2. If it works, repeat it for several days until it becomes a habit.

If not, give it another chance or try another.

3. Once accustomed to the first strategy, try the second.

Repeat the cycle.

Don't aim to be 100% better today.

Strive to be 1% better every day
